Who we are

This website is operated by Estìa. References to "we", "us", or "Estìa" in this policy refer to the Estìa project. Contact: [email protected].

This policy covers the Estìa landing website only. If you create an account and use the Estìa app, that is governed by a separate policy presented at sign-up.

What data we collect on this website

We use PostHog (EU cloud, data stored in Frankfurt, Germany) to collect anonymous usage data including:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Scroll depth and which sections you interact with
• Which buttons or links you click
• Your approximate country (derived from IP address, which is then discarded and not stored)
• Browser type and device type (mobile, desktop)
• Whether you arrived via a link, search engine, or direct visit

We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, or any information that directly identifies you. PostHog assigns a random anonymous ID stored in a cookie on your device.

Why we collect it

Purely to understand how to make this website better — which sections are useful, where people lose interest, and what's working or not. We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising of any kind.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) to process anonymous analytics data. Since no personal data is stored and the cookie is used for analytics rather than advertising, this does not require explicit consent under most EU interpretations. If you prefer not to be tracked at all, you can opt out at any time — see below.

Cookies

PostHog sets one first-party cookie (ph_*) to maintain an anonymous session ID across page visits. It does not track you across other websites. It expires after one year.

We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any other third-party tracking.

Data storage and international transfers

Analytics data is stored on PostHog's EU cloud infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany. PostHog is GDPR-compliant and a Data Processing Agreement is in place. You can read PostHog's privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.

Estìa is operated from the United States. Analytics data stored with PostHog remains on EU infrastructure, however it may be accessed by Estìa from outside the EEA for the purposes of analysis and improving this website. We do not export or store this data in any additional location. Additionally, if you contact us by email, that communication may be processed in the US. By using this website or contacting us, you acknowledge this. We take reasonable steps to protect any information you share with us.

How long we keep data

Anonymous analytics events are retained for 12 months, after which they are deleted automatically. Emails you send us are kept only as long as necessary to respond to your query.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of any data held about you
• Erasure — request deletion of your data
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Complaint — lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Since analytics data is anonymous, there is typically nothing linkable to you specifically. However, for any concern or request email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. As Estìa is not established in the EU, you may contact the supervisory authority in your country of residence, or the Irish Data Protection Commission (as a commonly used point of contact for US-based operators serving EU users): dataprotection.ie.

Opt out of analytics

You can opt out of PostHog analytics tracking at any time by clicking the button below. This sets a flag in your browser that instructs PostHog not to record your visits. It persists until you clear your browser data.

This website links to LinkedIn and Instagram. Clicking those links takes you to third-party platforms governed by their own privacy policies, which Estìa has no control over and is not responsible for.
